Earl Klugh’s arrangement of “If I Only Had a Brain” I consider it a rather tough piece. I had a “brain freeze” twice over the same parts of the song. Considering the amount of time I spend on this song, stuff like that should not happen. Earl Klugh has got the touch man! He is one of my favorite players. His solo work and trio work is a must have. Check it out. It’s May 15th and it’s really cold on my porch for this time of years. Hear the electric heater in the background? I still could not keep my hands warm even with the heavy pullover on. When I was a kid I could pretty much not play at all when my hand were cold; it’s better now, but still does not feel good. I have not played my Seagull in many many months. It’s away most of the winter. I like keeping laminated tops out only during the winter because if I have to go to a cased guitar I may not pick it up. While the Seagull Folk is not expensive, the top is solid cedar and it dings up real easy too. I have a dent in it that looks like someone chucked a dime at it like they were throwing a ninja star. How the hell that got there is beyond me. Nobody in my home is confessing.
